The most important factor in building our Dream House in Colorado was working with Comito Building & Design. Our last home was a tear down and rebuild. The experience was difficult. “We were building from a distance and knew that we needed to have someone we could communicate with easily and that we could trust with all of the little details. During our first meeting with Claude and Debbie, we knew we had found the right team. They took the time to listen to what we were trying to achieve in building our home and offered excellent guidance specific to our needs. Every step of the build they were a pleasure to work with, and any questions or concerns that we had along the way were addressed quickly.
We were matched up with an architect and designer who were both able to take our ideas and put them into plans that created exactly what we wanted. The trades and craftsmen are excellent. There is great pride in workmanship and the quality of construction is unrivaled. We are so happy with the attention to detail evident throughout the house. The thing we are most impressed with is how well the house fits on the property. With the Comitos’ guidance we have exactly what we wanted: The house is placed on the lot to take advantage of passive solar energy, the windows take advantage of views (and found some we didn’t even know we would have), a great amount of privacy maintained even with those views, and the fact that much of the land and vegetation around the house was left undisturbed. Claude was able to squeeze every bit of amazing out of our lot and then some. The Comito team has a reputation for being the go-to builder for the Colorado Springs hills, and from our experience that reputation is well earned.
Our build was finished a couple weeks ahead of schedule, and right at budget. We have already recommended Comito Building and Design to friends of ours and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks. ”If we’d been asked before meeting you if building a house would be fun, we’d have said “no”. We anticipated a stressful experience which would require our constant critical supervision to ensure that agreed-upon details were properly executed. When we met you, you said you were different. You were right. Working with the two of you and your staff has been fantastic.
From the beginning we have felt very well taken care of. We wanted hand-holding, and we got it. The selection process was amazingly low-stress. When you have seven people helping you select tile, how can it not be? Debbie, Kate and Lyndsay were wonderful.
You found us a fabulous architect, Todd Brokaw, who captured our dream and placed it on paper. You connected us with Joni Bader, who along with her team has helped us finish our home beautifully.
At the worksite, you assigned us Dan Nolan, with whom we are absolutely smitten. We felt welcome at the worksite. The subs were friendly. The carpenters and tile-layers were first-rate. When we had concerns they were addressed promptly and courteously. The biggest disaster of the whole process, when they poured the wrong color concrete in the driveway, was addressed immediately with “we’ll fix it”. Two days later, it was being replaced.
Every time we called the office, the voice on the phone was friendly. No one in your entire organization treated us with anything less than kindness and respect.
We are very happy with our house and our decision to have Claude Comito build it. We’ll readily recommend your team to our friends (and random strangers).”
